Safe Working at Heights Training
Over 40% of major injury accidents on construction sites involve ‘falls from heights’. Every year, about 50 people are killed falling from heights. Roof work, including work on fragile roofing materials, gives rise to a substantial number of fatal and serious accidents. It needs to be emphasised, however, that there is no ‘safe height’. Anyone who is off the ground is at risk of falling.
The hazard exists on working platforms, scaffolds, ladders, flat and pitched roofs, open steelwork and any area where work is being done in proximity to fragile materials, openings, holes and roof edges, etc.

Please be aware the not all the above is covered practically as not all the safe working at heights equipment is available on ITS sites.
Courses are tailored to simulate company work conditions. At the end of the safe working at heights training course; the candidate should be able to achieve the required standards of the theory test.
If the candidate completes the safe working at heights training course then he/she will be awarded a safe working at heights training certificate.

Understanding the legality:
Our safe working at heights training course is designed to ensure site operative/supervisors understand the requirement of the Work at Height Regulations 2005 and implement a safe system of work. The Work at Height Regulations 2005 requires employers to ensure that a sufficient risk assessment is carried out so that all potential work at height risks are effectively identified, controlled and managed. Employers must also ensure that employees are appropriately trained to ensure that they can carry out their work safely.
